Miller said the movie is about a father who is challenged by his survivalist brother to subject his family to a “three-day test” to see if they can survive in their home for three days without modern conveniences such as electricity, water and cable television. The man’s wife and children resist at first, but after a neighbor mistakenly thinks a hostage situation is taking place at the house, resulting in the authorities descending on the house, the family rallies around the idea. “It’s an adventure,” Miller said.

Actor George Newbern, who has appeared in “Father of the Bride,” plays the father, while actress Megyn Price, who was on the TV show “Rules of Engagement,” is his wife. The story takes place during the Christmas season, so when the scenes are filmed in Fairlawn Heights, the neighborhood will be decorated to look like it’s December, Miller said.
